In 1950 in the USA, 27-year-old Ray Hickok took over the family business with 300 employees under his leadership. He realized he lacked experience and had no one to turn to for advice. Feeling how much the support of like-minded peers matters in hard times, he gathered 20 young entrepreneurs like himself in New York and created a space for open dialogue and shared growth. That was the beginning of YPO.
